Progression

Our Music curriculum at Heyes Lane fosters a love and increasing enthusiasm for the subject amongst our children. All of our children benefit from high-quality music education which engages and inspires them to develop a life-long love for music and their talent as musicians. Critically engaging with music allows them to develop their self-confidence, creativity and a sense of achievement. Our Music curriculum encourages the children to develop an understanding of culture and history and allows them to grow their musical vocabulary as they progress through our school. The children are able to show an appreciation for music, in as many ways – either as listener, creator or performer and they are able to dissect music and comprehend its parts. They can sing and feel a pulse. They deepen their understanding of music in the world and the significance it plays in our lives, where it promotes well-being and connects them to those around them. Children are inspired to develop a love for music and foster an interest and passion for the subject.
